Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

• To set up and administer medications under the direction and supervision of a Licensed Nurse, and to function as a Certified Nursing Aide (CNA)
• Prepares, administers, and documents medications following accepted practices, and in accordance with regulations under the direction and supervision on a Licensed Nurse.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing of bed linens, and positioning in and out of bed, chair, etc. Assist with resident recreation programs. Prepares residents for meals and snacks. Assists residents in eating where needed, and records food intake.
• Reads and follows daily care plans; performs assigned restorative and rehabilitative procedures, reports changes in resident condition to Nurse in charge; documents care provision on resident record/flow sheets as required and reports accidents and incidents, and provides nursing functions as directed by supervisor.
• Understands and follows safety and sanitation rules, and promptly reports any violations to supervisor.
• Attend orientation and in-service as required by the state.
• Understands, complies with, and promotes all rules regarding residents’ rights.
• Promotes positive relationships with residents, visitors and government

Job Requirements

• Must be a Certified Medication Aide (CMA), and a Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) in good standing with the State.
• Must have ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
• Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with other associates.
• Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
